The gardens: A private visit especially for Dorset Gardens Trust has been arranged with the owners of  this is wonderfully eclectic and romantic garden set in the most beautiful English countryside around a Georgian house built in 1815, nestling in a valley 2 miles south of Bath.

It is a mix of herbaceous borders, topiaries, ponds and rills, a walled garden with fruit trees, greenhouses, flower and vegetable beds. There are wildflower meadows surrounding the garden and the disused Somerset Coal Canal runs through the property.

The house and garden have been lovingly restored and nurtured over the last 14 years and with regenerative gardening principles at its core, it is teaming and humming with wildlife; a true slice of paradise!

The owners: Phil and Amanda Honey - owners and curators of Caisson Gardens will provide a welcoming introductory talk covering: history of the garden and the network of locks, their vision for Caisson, creating what you will see today, including the infrastructure, planting, the ponds and water - all teeming with wildlife, the challenges, the future. Phil is a fount of knowledge about Caisson and the Somerset Coal Canal, with the fifteen locks that meander through the 40 acre property, along with his passion for biodiversity and wildlife.

Amanda designed and created Caisson Gardens as you see it today. She is passionate about organic, regenerative gardening and soil health. Along with the Head Gardener Tristan, their combined plant knowledge is tremendous and will happily answer any questions. Visitors are encouraged to meander on their own and discover the gardens at their own pace, whilst they are on hand to answer any questions.
